BIOGRAPHY & BACKGROUND:
MUSIC:
Quaid is a power rock cover band that plays songs from the mid 1960s through the present, with most of its material covered from the mid 1990s to the present. The band name was derived from the fact two of the band members are brothers and their last name is Quaid. Quaid has an ever-growing song list that includes many classic and alternative rock's biggest band names and song titles. The song list attempts to cover at least one song by the major artists of the classic and alternative rock era. In doing so, the band performs songs as mellow and understated as Matchbox 20's 3AM and Van Morrison's Browned Eyed Girl to heavier, distorted tunes such as Stone Temple Pilot's Sex Type Thing, Peral Jam's Alive and Rearview Mirror, and Metallica's Fade to Black. The song lists that the band utilizes typically incorporate the full range and scope of classic and alternative rock songs and artists so that members of the audience will surely hear songs they truly like.
THE QUAID EXPERIENCE:
Quaid has played a variety of venues in the western suburbs of Chicago. The band, however, does not limit its performances to bars, as it has provided the musical entertainment for numerous private parties(graduations, anniversaries) and charity events. The most common venues on the Quaid resume are the Willow Lounge in Willowbrook, The Atlantic in Chicago, and Kenny's Irish Pub in Countryside all of which have constituted a monthly show for the group. Quaid enjoys the benefit of a good and loyal following. From its wide fan base, the band usually brings a sizeable contingent of people to local bars for its shows, a figure that grows considerably for outdoor festival shows such as the Taste of Westmont.
